Political Activities & Contributions
We believe that public policy engagement is an important and appropriate role for companies in open societies when conducted in a legally compliant and transparent manner. In the U.S. there are important federal and state lobbying registration and disclosure laws with which Celgene complies.
In addition, with respect to political activity in the U.S., Celgene policy prohibits use of corporate resources on political activity except with respect to the Celgene Corporation Political Action Committee (Celgene PAC) established in 2012 and corporate political contributions where permitted by law.
The Celgene PAC Board makes decisions on any political contributions made by the Celgene PAC or by the company. These contributions are reported to the Federal Election Commission and to state election commissions as and to the extent required by law. In addition, to ensure transparency, information about all political contributions in the U.S. by the Celgene PAC or the company will be provided in a semiannual report posted on the company website, categorized by state, candidate and amount.
