Our Giving Philosophy
Celgene promises to always put patients first by ensuring that patients worldwide have safe, well-controlled access to life-enhancing therapies and by improving patient care globally through education, innovation and bold pursuits in science.
Areas of Giving
Celgene provides grants that make a positive impact on the patients we serve, our communities and our world, today and for years to come. We are committed to improving the lives of patients worldwide and focus our charitable giving in areas where we can make the greatest impact.
Our giving is focused in three primary areas:
- Independent Medical Education
- Patient Focused Advocacy Partnerships
- Philanthropic Charitable Support
Celgene focuses its external support in the areas of hematologic malignancies, oncology and immune-inflammatory conditions.
Independent Medical Education (IME)
Medical Educational Grants are awarded in support of high quality, independent educational programs and materials, which demonstrate the potential to improve patient care and health outcomes. Supported programs must be independent, objective, balanced and scientifically rigorous. Grants cannot be tied, in any way, to past, present, or future prescribing, purchasing or recommending (including formulary recommendations) of any drug. Celgene will consider grant requests for both accredited and non-accredited continuing education; however, preference will be given to accredited educational programs. We also partner with a number of organizations to provide patient education and support to patients and their families through educational grants.

Patient Focused Advocacy Partnerships
Celgene Patient Advocacy collaborates with independent patient organizations that support and advocate on behalf of patients and their families.
The Patient Advocacy Program will consider requests for charitable contributions for activities and initiatives from independent patient organizations. Requests must be consistent with Celgene’s mission and focus areas.
